Oakleaf are currently looking for a Chef to lead the team at a 22 bedroom one of a kind holistic treatment centre for stress related conditions including substance misuse.
Our residential rehabilitation centre provides the best medical and holistic excellence, delivering research-based programs for individuals experiencing Alcohol or Drug dependency anxiety, chronic stress and burnout depression eating disorders, and other co-occurring or additional stress related conditions.
Ideally you will have experience of working as a chef in a similar setting such as a large hospital or care home. Must have experience of being a head chef and able to lead and motivate a team.
You will be leading the assistant chefs in delivering high quality food.
The job will involve working days only 10-12 hour shifts 4 one week 3 the next. Will require alternate weekends.

Main function of the job:-
To manage the preparation and all meals of the service. To manage staff and operate within the designated budget and ensure supervision and training of all staff working within the kitchen. Ensure hygiene and health and safety are maintained within the kitchen area.
Main duties of the role:-
Create and maintain cooking and cleaning regimes (daily, weekly, periodically etc) for all areas of the kitchen in line with the Company’s quality philosophy.
To ensure all aspects of the meal preparation areas within the service operates to acceptable standards.
To prepare creative menus in advance in a regular and varied way.
To ensure that any special dietary meals are prepared.
To prepare and present food to a high standard and quality.
To ensure that adequate stock controls are in place.
To ensure that the meal preparation areas comply with all regulatory requirements.
To ensure that proper quality control systems are adopted for all aspects of the meal preparation management.
To operate the equipment, food and meal preparation areas within budgets.
To ensure that food handling, cleanliness, health, safety, risk assessments and that all procedures required within the meal preparation areas operate to the highest possible standards.
Arrange/participate in staff and client meetings as required.

* Previous Head Chef experience
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Team player
* Highly organised
* Knowledge/experience of health and safety legislation
· Knowledge of nutritional needs of service user group
