Senior Estate Management role, leading a multi-disciplined property department in the delivery of all property matters in a large Public Sector body. Developing and delivering a National property strategy, across a large and diverse estate.

Client Details

Our client is a Multi-Faceted Public Sector organisation, responsible for in excess of 2000 sites across the UK. They have a property division based in Birmingham. They are forward thinking and ready to embrace change in order to develop and adopt commercial working practices across the delivery of their property portfolio.

They spend in excess of £65m on the management of their estate in addition to their current planned capital works. Their portfolio of property ranges from small built for purpose sites through to historical listed property. The diversity of the buildings and locations makes for a hugely interesting and truly unique property role.

Description

This Director of Estates role will be the key professional lead for all Estate Management activity across our client’s portfolio. Liaising with other government departments and public bodies to ensure a smooth and seamless delivery of a fit for purpose property strategy.

This role will have strategic oversight of our client’s regional property teams. Advising on Estate Management matters, ensuring Capital Projects are delivered on time and to budget and coordinating a national approach to maintenance and facilities management.

Reporting to the Board the Director of Estates will have autonomy to make key property decisions, leading the strategic estate plan. Being responsible for developing strong relationships internally and externally to ensure strategies are aligned across all operational business areas and identifying improvements and opportunities accordingly.

Profile

The successful candidate must have a thorough working knowledge of Law of Property, Landlord & Tenant, Town & Country Planning, Compulsory Purchase & Compensation as well as experience of delivering capital projects from inception to completion and the effective use of Condition Surveys.

Ideally holding MRICS chartered status.

Have excellent board level management skills and leadership and the necessary interpersonal skills to engage effectively with Stakeholders.

Job Offer
