We are working with a market leading company that have aspirations of being a major disrupter in one of the UK’s largest retail markets. Founded in 2018, they’ve received an unprecendented £450m in investment in their first two years, and have already scaled to nearly 700 employees across the UK.

They are now looking to hire an Engineering Manager, to head up one of their core product engineering teams. Their wider engineering function, has over 80+ brilliant minds, who are all fully focused on producing the best product possible and writing high-quality code. You’ll work with a small squad of 5-6 engineers, and will encourge the use of principles like XP, Agile, Software Craftsmanship and TDD to deliver cool new features for the platform.

As the Engineering Manager you will play a key role in facilitating the team to deliver their best work quickly, by creating a highly collaborative and nurturing environment. You’ll feel comfortable keeping a couple of your fingers in the code base – for instance helping the engineers make key technical decisions, doing code reviews, coaching and pair programming.

It’s also worth noting that interviews will be conducted fully remotely for the foreseeable future.
