Salary: £26,000 – £36,000 depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent – Full-time

Who are we?
Airship is an established SaaS (software as a service) company based in Sheffield. We have
two products that serve the best and most exciting brands in the UK hospitality industry – think
Revolution, Byron, The Alchemist, Leon, Turtle Bay, Franco Manca, Zizzi and many more.
We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our established development team. The position
is remote-first and we’re open to some flexible working, so you’re not tied to the office.
Our development team are proud to be the 2021 winners of the UK Dev Awards “Best Dev
Team of the Year”, and we are looking to welcome someone aboard to help strengthen our
team even further.
QA and Automation Testing Engineer – The Role:
Your role will kick off with mastering our overall product architectures, shadowing other
developers and learning the ropes. You’ll immediately drop into our sprint kick-offs and
stand-ups so you have exposure to our processes and learn how we work and who we are.
Once you’ve found your feet and know your way around our products, you’ll start
collaborating with the team, working closely with our Head of Engineering, ultimately ensuring
that the new features we release have good test coverage and are well-placed to remain
reliable as our products continue to evolve.
Your role will revolve around performing manual tests of new features, regression testing
existing functionality, making sure new code is written with testing in mind, and authoring new
functional test cases. You’ll also work closely with UX and customer success teams to ensure
newly delivered features meet customer needs and are consistent across our products.
QA and Automation Testing Engineer – About You:
You’ll care deeply about learning your craft as well as contributing to the success of our
products. You’ll no doubt have some of your own personal and professional projects under
your belt to show off your technical interests and proven track record, and probably be
somewhat obsessed with writing readable, secure, accessible, testable, standards-compliant
Our engineering team generally works on web based applications, so you’ll need to be very
or React would be useful too. You will also be very familiar with APIs, including REST, SOAP
You’ll be familiar with automated testing frameworks such as PHPUnit and Jest, along with
other testing tools such as Cypress and Selenium. You will have a good understanding of
writing clearly structured, maintainable tests that deliver maximum code coverage.
A graduate degree is not a necessity. We welcome applications from self-taught developers
and graduates alike.

right next to Sheffield Train station. We have views over the city, green spaces front and back
and plenty of space
– We equip everyone with a Macbook as standard (but if you’d rather work on something else,
we won’t force you!)
– There is an EMI share options scheme in place for employees, so our gain is your gain too
– We are very open to flexible and remote working, so if you’re interested but not able to work
in the office everyday, you can work remotely instead and we can meet up now and again for
